North Eastham Landscape
Kent Land Design worked with the homeowners to design and implement a low-maintenance ecological landscape.
The site had not been cared for in several years and was overhauled and planted with native, edible and climate-adapted species. The client’s goal was for a usable lawn area within privacy and foundation plantings that reflect the unique landscape of Cape Cod.

Native and drought tolerant species form a layered foundation garden.
A planted “privacy thicket” of native species separates the home from the road. The lawn is planted with Cape Harmony Seed Mix.
Sassafras, a native thicket forming tree is allowed to regenerate under mature oaks.
