This project involved design and construction as well as horticulture and management. We took cues from the existing architecture by creating perpendicular lines from the home, to match the mid-century modern inspired design.
We terraced a sloping backyard into edible gardens and a family lawn area. We also constructed a retaining wall and driveway edging, a new lower driveway, and a bioswale at a low point that collects water from the street.
We renovated the existing foundation gardens and a meadow area, expanding them and planting drought-tolerant native plants.
We continue to steward and enhance the wider landscape.
